Om Yoga Magazine Yoga Studio of the Year - 2024
Classes
All levels. All bodies. Everyone’s fighting something — we just move through it together.
WARM 'FLOW' YOGA
Experience warm, flow-based classes led by Alli, Emma, and Lindsey, where creative sequencing and carefully chosen music set the stage for a truly immersive practice. These sessions are invigorating and challenging, featuring dynamic transitions that keep you engaged while working through each pose with intention.
YIN YOGA
This soothing class, led by Zahir with expert support from Emma, centers on deep, long holds—up to 5 minutes—in seated or lying poses. Yin Yoga invites you to focus on mindful breathing, deep release, and letting go—a perfect chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and find stillness in both body and mind.
WARM 'HATHA' YOGA
This class with Zahir offers a different vibe from a typical flow style class, where each pose flows smoothly into the next. Instead, this class takes a more intentional, slower pace. Here, we focus on one pose at a time, holding each for longer to truly explore it. You’ll get the chance to try some unique poses, including arm balances (think Peacock 🦚) and even handstands 🤸🏾😰.
Our Studio
Creating friendships, community, healthy bodies and healthy minds — since 2013.

About Us
Nestled in the heart of Surrey, Akram Yoga is a family-run yoga studio dedicated to honoring the timeless traditions of yoga while embracing the ever-evolving landscape of modern yoga culture. Our studio offers a warm environment—heated to a comfortable 26+ degrees, providing the perfect balance without the intensity of Bikram-style heat. Our mission is simple: we want you, the student, to leave talking about the yoga—not the heat.
At Akram Yoga, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive space that welcomes everyone, regardless of shape, size, or background. Our commitment to community, friendship, and positive energy has earned us recognition and awards, a testament to the vibrant atmosphere we’ve cultivated. We believe yoga is for every-body, and our studio reflects this ethos.
Over the years, we've been honored to receive several awards, celebrating our dedication to our community and inclusive spirit. We were named the Best Yoga Studio in Surrey by Muddy Stilettos in 2023, and the UK’s leading Om Yoga Magazine awarded us the title of Favorite Yoga Studio 2024—an incredible honor amidst strong competition.
This is your yoga studio—a place where students are encouraged to discover their potential, embrace their authentic selves, and connect with a supportive community.
Welcome to Akram Yoga, where tradition meets transformation.

❓What should I bring to class?Just bring yourself, some water, and a towel. Mats are already laid out for you, so you’ll know exactly where to go when you arrive. For hygiene reasons, we ask that you bring your own mat or a towel large enough to cover the studio mat. It’s simply a precaution — someone could have a small cut on their foot without knowing, and this helps us maintain a clean and respectful space for everyone. The studio is warm (but not hot), so wear something breathable and comfortable to move in.
-
❓Do I need to be flexible or experienced to join? Not at all. Our classes are open to everyone — from complete beginners to experienced yogis. You don’t need to be flexible, fit, or familiar with yoga. We’ll guide you through each session at your own pace, with options to modify as needed.

❓How warm is the studio — and will I overheat? Our studio is gently warmed to around 26–28°C — warm enough to help muscles release tension, but not so hot that it’s overwhelming. It’s designed to support your body, not exhaust it. Most students find it energising, not draining. We want you to leave talking about the Yoga and not the heat.
