ABOUT US
Introducing Kids' Boxing Classes at Our Studio – Led by Zahir Akram
Studio owner Zahir, a passionate boxing enthusiast, was inspired to start teaching boxing after searching for a convenient local space where his 5-year-old son could train. Unable to find the right environment, Zahir took matters into his own hands, transforming his personal training room at the yoga studio into a space where he could introduce his son to the art of boxing.
As word spread, parents began asking if Zahir could offer structured classes for kids aged 4-13. Already an experienced boxing coach for adults, Zahir is excited to extend his expertise to children with the launch of kid-friendly boxing classes.
Zahir's vision is to create a supportive environment where kids like his son can move, laugh, develop essential life skills, stretch, improve their breathing, and build confidence. This academy isn’t about promoting fights—it's about fostering self-assurance, encouraging screen-free activity, enhancing mental health, and reaping the many physical benefits of learning boxing at a young age. His own son will be present at every lesson, embodying the values the academy stands for.
Each class will begin and end with a shared mantra:
We box for fitness.
To build discipline.
To earn respect.
YOGA & BREATHING
The last 10 minutes of each class will include basic yoga postures to support flexibility and movement, along with simple breathing exercises. Research consistently highlights that many children do not breathe as optimally as they should, which can lead to a range of health challenges and has even been linked to issues such as ADHD. By helping children not only move better but also breathe better, we aim to enhance their overall well-being. Improved breathing can help children feel more at ease, focus better, and think more clearly.
For example, studies have shown that intentional breathing exercises can reduce stress and improve concentration in children, making them a valuable tool for both physical and mental development. This philosophy goes beyond movement—it’s about equipping children with foundational skills for a healthier and more balanced life.

GUEST COACHES
From time to time, we’ll invite guest coaches to share their expertise. Among them is Richard Fenwick (right), a former multiple-time World Thai Boxing Champion and Zahir’s own boxing coach.
As a father of two, Richard is a firm believer in the power of boxing to help children build confidence and develop respect. At our academy, we present boxing as a martial art that fosters self-assurance and instills discipline.
